Pink Monday

I had a bad case of pink Monday.

Halfway through my day (and work), my brain stopped functioning.

Then suddenly...

A vision of great proportions! I thought about PINK.

Not her. Pink as in THE color pink.

Now I'm not the most romantic person in the world, but it must be because of the proximity of Valentine's Day that I had the brilliant idea of making heart-shaped cookies.

On any normal day, I should not be thrilled about this. Heck, I wouldn't even think about attempting to make cookies again. Because every time I did try, I never managed to bake a single cookie that was edible. But the vision of pink heart-shaped goodies kept distracting me that it was impossible to get any work done. So I succumbed to the voices. Darn.

Luckily, I had spare ingredients in the kitchen. After mixing, whipping, and folding, I rolled out my cookie dough and used a cookie cutter to get the desired heart shapes. I placed them neatly in rows on a greased baking tray and popped them in the oven.

No more dough rolling using tall glasses for me.

And because I've had too many bad experiences with cookies, I never left the oven whilst they were baking. Not even for a single second.

10-seconds into the baking. I took pictures by the minute afterwards. Yes, I was that paranoid.

Fortunately, the cookies turned out better than I expected. And the best part? They were edible. Even my mom couldn't resist stealing a piece or two.

Ta-da! I couldn't be any happier. *tear*

And here they are after being frosted with Pink icing:

My proudest cookie moment so far!

If Mondays were this awesomely miraculous, then I just might try making the perfect Soufflé or French Macarons next week. Then again, I don't want to push my luck just yet.

Packed nice and tight :)

What do you think of these cookies?

Chasing Dreams

"You'll never know how far you are...

So never give up on your dreams. "

And this is exactly why I created this blog.

I've always wanted to be the first person to conquer the sun.

But then I learned that with a temperature of 6,000 degrees Celsius, it just isn't possible for me.

SO...

I went for this instead.

It's only my childhood, adolescent-hood, and adult-hood dream anyway. No big deal.

Let the baking begin.
